Studio Weave were appointed to collaborate with LDA Design on the development of the UCL East masterplan. Our scope focused on conceptualising the connection between exterior and interior spaces, and the balancing of openness and security. Our public realm study included research into case studies of a variety of spatial conditions, with reference to which relevant constraints and opportunities were identified. Our use strategy set out principles for a number of replicable tactics capable of achieving permeability with manageable thresholds.
