Studio Weave were invited to submit proposals for the site, following a successful collaboration with the client on the Hackney ‘Wick First’ Development. The project objective is to develop a scheme that will ‘bring both existing residents and new customers together’, and ‘to provide an experience of what the regeneration of Grahame Park will offer’.

The proposal conceptualises the site as a gateway into the area; presenting a distinct frontage which conceals an unfolding sequence of spaces. The new building wraps around an accessible open space, defining a range of new indoor and outdoor venues capable of hosting a range of activities. The scheme prioritises greening of the site: both around the perimeter and extending into the courtyard created by the building.
