Studio Weave were appointed to design an internal reconfiguration of a children’s attraction in a Victorian former-factory building. Our scope included: establishment of a new circulation route with new vertical circulation; expansion of the existing programme to double visitor capacity and include a new café function space.

The project was developed with high expectations and a limited budget. With a significant proportion of the overall construction budget ringfenced for installation of play features and set dressing, the architectural scheme was carefully coordinated and layered to establish the foundations of a long-term plan within current constraints. Building fabric improvements critical to improving movement patterns and unlocking underutilised spaces were prioritised. Fitted joinery packages were designed to be scalable and/or deliverable in future stages.
